How to salt runner beans
We use salting as an alternative to freezing runner beans. This video shows you how to salt them. This is a simple and traditional way of preserving garden produce and is worth a try.
I have tried salting runner beans for the first time this year. And so far so good I think. They are certainly very pretty to look at if nothing else lol x x x
They retain their texture far better when salted than frozen. We have been pleasantly surprised with them. I've decided to make the revival of bean salting one of my missions in life!
