We grow our own food in a suburban village in the North East of England. Follow us as we keep up the battle to be self-sufficient.

Pinkie is producing over 3 litres of milk a day and it comes with large quantities of cream. We've already made ice cream with it but last night I dusted down our butter churn and made some butter. We are getting into a cycle of taking the cream off the milk each day. If we end up with too much butter, we will freeze it. The cream supply will tail off before the milk supply dries up so what we put in the freezer will get us through the winter and spring.
