Last of the root crops
The last of the root crops came out today: a good quantity of parsnips, a laughable quantity of carrots, both from bed 1 and a miserable amount of celeriac from bed 4. Bed 1 has now been dug over. Bed 4 is a bit of a problem. Basically, it's too wet wo we are thinking of putting a pond there. Stephen, the brother of my brother-in-law Ian, also suggested we could have a raised bed there as well to avoid the damp. We will try both! It is a large bed so there is space for both.
